Workshop on Measurement methods for passive intermodulation and environmental testing of electronic circuits
A successful one-day workshop entitled “Measurement methods for passive intermodulation and environmental testing of electronic circuits” was held on Monday 18th September 2023 at the Berlin Messe in Germany. It was jointly organized by Martin Salter from National Physical Laboratory (NPL), UK and Ahmed Sayegh from Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany under the umbrella of the European Microwave Week 2023.
This workshop was organised under Work Packages 3 & 4 of the FutureCom project and was attended by several participants from both industry and academia. The morning session highlighted problems in communication systems due to passive intermodulation (PIM) and provided solutions to some very challenging measurement needs. In the afternoon session, the test methods that are being developed and implemented to study the effects of harsh environmental conditions on electronic circuits were also disseminated to the audience. Further to that, there were two panel sessions, where in-depth discussions were held on the results and very constructive feedback was received from the participants.
